Bennie Gale Thomlinson, age 67, passed away at his home located near Spicewood, Texas on Friday, January 26, 2018 with members of his family by his side. Bennie had been ill for a long time as a result of service in Vietnam and contact with Agent Orange.

He was preceded in death by his spouse: Claudine Ann Thomlinson; his parents: Mr. Delbert Thomlinson and Mrs. Betty Thomlinson; two siblings: a brother, Tom Thomlinson and a sister, Delberta (Happi) Schulz, and also a granddaughter: Brittany Nichole Webb.

Bennie Gale Thomlinson, age 67, passed away at his home located near Spicewood, Texas on Friday, January 26, 2018 with members of his family by his side. Bennie had been ill for a long time as a result of service in Vietnam and contact with Agent Orange.

He was preceded in death by his spouse: Claudine Ann Thomlinson; his parents: Mr. Delbert Thomlinson and Mrs. Betty Thomlinson; two siblings: a brother, Tom Thomlinson and a sister, Delberta (Happi) Schulz, and also a granddaughter: Brittany Nichole Webb.

Bennie served as a Marine from September 3, 1969 until September 2, 1971. He received a citation that he as a Corporal, served with Company K, Third Battalion, First Marine Division from 2/28/70 to 2/23/71 as a Rifleman and served as First Team Leader under extremely adverse conditions and difficulties. He was active in over 200 patrols and ambushes as an outstanding leader with determination and devotion of duty.

Bennie is survived by two daughters: Ruth Ann Rhoades and Beth Kish Hodge; step-daughter, Michelle Over; a total of 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 3 great-grand children. Also three siblings are left behind: Nathan Thomlinson, David Thomlinson, and Melba Miller and various nieces and nephews. From his wheelchair, Bennie enjoyed being outside watching his koi fish in a small pond with his little dachshund, Anna Belle. It was surrounded by flowers and greenery and was his special place to sit and ponder.

Bennie will be buried at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park with a military service held by the graveside with Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home officiating, on Saturday, Feb. 3rd at 1:00 P.M.
